Cardinal, 7 bishops to grace Laguna celebration of Holy Rosary
SAN PABLO CITY – A Cardinal and seven bishops will spearhead this year’s celebration of the Most Holy Rosary Fiesta of Sto. Rosario Parish in Pacita Complex 1, San Pedro town on Sunday.
Fr. Mario P. Rivera, newly installed parish priest said, this is the first time that Main Celebrants of their eight (8) Holy Masses for the Fiesta are all bishops including a Cardinal. The theme of the Fiesta is: “Until now, wise men find Jesus with Mary.”
The priest said, on the Feastday, Sunday (October 19) the Main Celebrant for the Concelebrated Mass at 10:00 in the morning would be no less than San Pablo (Don Bosco) Bishop Most Rev. Leo M. Drona, DD to be assisted by some members of the clergy and religious.
His Eminence, Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal, Archbishop of Cebu is main celebrant for the 8:30 a.m. Mass; Most Rev. Deogracias S. Iniguez, Jr., Bishop of Caloocan for the 6:30 a.m.Mass; Most Rev. Bernardino C. Cortez, a former Laguna Clergy turned Auxiliary Bishop of Manila for the 5:00 a.m. Mass.
Most Rev. Emilio Z. Marquez, Co-Adjutor Bishop of Lucena (Quezon) would be main celebrant of the 3:00 o’ clock in the afternoon Mass; Most Rev. Teodoro C. Bacani, Jr. , Auxiliary Bishop of Manila for the 4:30 p.m. Mass; Most Rev. Francisco C. San Diego, former San Pablo Bishop and currently Bishop of Pasig for the 6:00 p.m. Mass; and Most Rev. Antonio R. Tobias, Bishop of Novaliches for the last Mass at 7:30 in the evening.
Assisting the parish priest in the preparation of the Fiesta are the Grand Hermano & Hermana Councilor Raffy & Mrs.Connie Campos and the Parish Pastoral Council led by its President Sis. Sunny Cruz-Rico.
Aside from the Novena Masses (9 days), prior to the Fiesta Day, several activities were prepared, which include the Blessing of Animals, Photo Exhibit “Balik Tanaw”, Marian Grand Procession, Scriptural Rosary, Living Rosary, Marian Songwriting Contest, Drum & Lyre Competition, Grand Coronation Night of Ginang Pacita 2008; Medical, Dental & Optical Mission; Search for the Pacita Idol; and Fireworks Display on Fiesta Day evening.
