Media awareness, threats vs. life and family taken up at seminar

SAN PABLOCITY – The Diocese of San Pablo under the stewardship of His Excellency Most Rev. Leo M. Drona, DD and the Diocesan Social Communications Ministry will be holding a seminar on Media Awareness and Literacy on Saturday in Calamba City.

The seminar dubbed as KAMULATAN III has for its theme: “Mary, Media and the Rosary,” and it aims to promote across the diocese awareness of the problems resulting from imprudent consumption of mass-mediated messages. It would also tackle topic on some “Subtle Attacks Against Life, Family and Society.”

The seminar will be held on September 6, 2008 (Saturday) at Montevista Hotspring Resort & Conference Center in Pansol, Calamba City at 1:00 in the afternoon until 6:00 p.m. There will be no Registration Fee.

The main speaker, Mr. Bernard F. Canaberal, is a veteran media practitioner and former ABS-CBN Studio TV Host of the Family Rosary Crusade, now aired over Channel 5.Hestudied graduate courses like, Electronic Media in Hatchend, England and Media Evangelization in Lyons, France.

It was learned that KAMULATAN, a diocesan-initiated activity known as KAMULATAN I was first held two years ago (August 19, 2006) in San Pablo City at the Bishop’s Residence. The second seminar KAMULATAN II was held at the Sto. Rosario Parish in Pacita Complex 1 in Pedro town.

The seminar is fully supported by the management of Montevista headed by its manager Mr. Benedicto “Benny” Dela Luna.
